I volunteer with DWNSW because the community and work nourishes my soul. I feel privileged to be a part of such a diverse and intentional community. I am constantly being challenged, cared for, and valued as a peer and leader. The work on the ground is also very exciting and a way for me to express my love for community, a form of fun play and also a way for me to healthily combat oppressive systems.

The fact that they worked so closely with the medical team meant I felt immediately reassured that I was (besides being dehydrated) physically okay. One of their volunteers then spent some time with me until I felt ready to head back out into the festival and find my friends. In the hour and a half that I spent at DanceWize there were people being attended to who were far worse off than I was, but at no point was I made to feel like I shouldn't be there. I went on to have one of the best nights of the festival and I put it down to the genuine compassion and total support I experienced at DanceWize that evening. The DanceWize team are a bunch of incredible human beings who, I believe, should be at every festival and music event across the country. Thank you for doing what you do x

Full support to this group of legends! Providing the safest and friendly space for all those who are in need of it or even just pop in for a laugh and some education on how to party safely. I felt completely comfortable to leave my friends in their safe hands over the weekend and was greeted with a smile and fan each time I came past to cheek up on this. This kind of system works!!! Please keep it going in full power and keep our community connected Big LOVE to DanceWize

“It was lost paradise 2018 where I met my first dancewizers. I was in their care space when I was overheating in the 40 degree heat. I've never met such a big group of warm souls. So one year ago today, I decided to join them. And look how happy it made me! I have only been able to volunteer a little of my time due to my crazy schedule, but in it i found a second family. love you all. Thanks for all the love and sick times Wolfpack”

"DanceWize NSW is a long-awaited service and health management aspect to the entertainment and festival field in NSW. The government backed program with training and health service support is a no brainer to me when producing a festival. Their ability to tailor their service around the areas of harm reduction to our events has given our events a level of support that gives me comfort and a sense of security. Involvement of a subject matter expert such the DanceWize NSW team is a necessity to the festival marketplace." - Justin Nyker, Mothership Events

“DanceWize NSW are an invaluable resource that work collaboratively with emergency service organisations and festival management to give real time intelligence on safety issues. Their care space and roving capabilities give me great comfort when managing the emergency response to affected individuals at festivals. They are an excellent adjunct to any medical provider that allows decanting from the medical service to DanceWize NSW for ongoing professional and safe care. I highly recommend them.” - Matt Wood, Ranwood Solutions

Every shift has been an invaluable learning experience and has allowed me to grow individually and with my fellow cohort of volunteers.” - Chris, 30
