I volunteer with DWNSW because the community and work nourishes my soul. I feel privileged to be a part of such a diverse and intentional community. I am constantly being challenged, cared for, and valued as a peer and leader. The work on the ground is also very exciting and a way for me to express my love for community, a form of fun play and also a way for me to healthily combat oppressive systems.

NUAA acknowledges that our work takes place on Aboriginal land across NSW. NUAA acknowledges the legacy of peers who went before and recognises the courage and commitment of the (injecting) drug user activists that played a key role in preventing HIV in Australia. We commit to holding their legacy and continuing the fight for the health, human rights and dignity of diverse communities of people who use and have used drugs.
